About The Position

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
• Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
• New York State Driver's license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Proof of auto insurance.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.

Nice To Haves

• No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• The ideal candidate should have clear boundaries.
• The ideal candidate should be able to work around animals.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with teaching social skills.
• Support the pursuit of hobbies and interests.
• Teach skills for independent living.
• Provide transportation to guitar lessons.
• Engage in activities such as playing video games, using the computer, and going to the movies.
• Accompany on walks in parks.
• Support volunteering at the animal shelter.
• Help find new activities in the community.
• Attend friend connection events.

Benefits

• Starting pay: CH1 $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.
