About The Position

This is a full-time, day shift position for an RN Charge Nurse in Dialysis Outpatient. The role involves delivering care to acutely ill patients through the nursing process, interacting effectively with patients, significant others, and health team members, and following the Quality Assurance plan. The position is located in Sandusky, Ohio, a desirable coastal town. Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing.
  • Must possess current hospital experience (within past five years) or be a new nursing graduate (within past two years). Nurses who do not meet this requirement must show proof of successful graduation from an approved refresher course.
  • Must be knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Possess a service orientation.
  • Must be currently certified in CPR (and recertified bi-annually).
  • ACLS, Trauma, TNCC, and PALS Certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer minimum of one year’s experience in pertinent clinical specialty. Nurses who do not meet this requirement must obtain experience through competency based orientation (CBO).
  • Prefer minimum 2 years’ experience in areas of charge being sought.
  • Previous management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the general direction of the Unit Director, delivers care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation utilizing evidence based practice.
  • Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
  • Follows the Q.A. plan and completes all aspects of data collection, trending, evaluation, and reporting.
