Dialysis Registered Nurse (Dialysis RN)
About The Position
VitalCore Health Strategies is hiring a full-time, day-shift Dialysis Registered Nurse at Mecklenburg County Detention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The RN delivers quality care consistent with the scope of practice established by the state nurse practice act, applicable regulations, and facility requirements. The role includes delegating and supervising nursing activities appropriate to other personnel’s scope of practice, taking accountability for the quality of care, and helping maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. The RN advocates for patients and serves as a nursing leader, promoting best practices.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
- Active CPR certification.
- Maintain knowledge of state laws and regulations governing nursing practice.
- Satisfactorily complete initial and annual clinical competencies assigned to the role.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions and side effects.
- Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify treatment plans based on patients’ responses and conditions.
- Monitor patient care, including diet and physical activity.
- Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel, or supervise a unit.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
- Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on health education, disease prevention, and childbirth, and develop health improvement programs.
- Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies, and maintain supply stock.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient conditions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the facility.
