About The Position

Requirements

• Two years of Dental Assistant experience.
• Certificate from an accredited dental assisting program.
• CPR certification.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with practice management software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operatory for examinations and dental procedures.
• Prepare patients for visits with the dentist and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist the dentist chairside.
• Provide patient education about disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment as directed by the dentist or hygienist.
• Assist with caries management protocols, including fluoride treatment, individualized oral hygiene instructions, and patient education.
• Expose and scan radiographs as prescribed by the attending dentist.
• Perform assigned lab work.
• Document appropriate clinical notes in the electronic health record.
• Assist with disease-management projects, which may include participating in health fairs or patient outreach.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Attending Dentist, Chief Clinical Officer, or Dental Practice Manager.
• Comply with CDC guidelines for infection control and instrument processing.
• Comply with office OSHA protocols, including the Blood Borne Pathogens Standard.
