About The Position

Requirements

• A Master’s degree, preferably, a Master of Health Professions Education, a Master of Education with a strong interest in curriculum development, or a Master in Nursing with a curriculum development specialty or a specialization in nursing education.
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in a related field, preferably in a health profession or in health education.
• Ability to encourage collaboration, listen, hear, and be responsive to feedback and integrate suggestions thoughtfully.
• Recognize the needs of different collaborative teams and respond accordingly with tact and diplomacy.
• Highly flexible and able to learn quickly in the moment.
• Adaptable to changing environments.
• Ability to navigate complex situations and set task sequence.
• Ability to collaborate with a number of individuals and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Ability to prioritize, take initiative and identify where to focus attention to keep all projects and/or curriculum and course development moving forward.
• See and make connections between and among projects.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent writing skills tailored to each communication method, purpose, and audience.
• Proficiency in using online platforms for communication and for displaying information.
• Use continuous quality improvement approaches.
• Experienced in data analysis and reporting.
• Meticulous record keeping, identification, and consolidation of key information from development teams to inform the work of the team and related initiatives.
• If the incumbent is a Registered Nurse, a current registration with the CRNS is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working closely with development teams creating new projects/curriculum development is a strong asset for this role.
• Knowledge of graduate nursing education represents another asset.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Associate Dean Research and Graduate Studies, the Graduate Chair, the Nurse Practitioner Program Academic Lead, the members of the Graduate Programs Team, and the Graduate Curriculum Review Workgroup.
• Support the review of existing graduate courses and the development of new graduate courses while monitoring College of Graduate Studies and University Council deadlines. Monitor progress and deliverables.
• Along with the members of the Graduate Team, support the Indigenization of the graduate programs.
• Work closely and consult with members of the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning Excellence.
• Keep detailed records on the revised graduate curriculum, monitor progress, and deliverables such as updated graduate pathways, update graduate courses, and new graduate courses.
• In conjunction with the Associate Dean Research and Graduate Studies develop agenda items and actively participate in meetings with the Graduate Programs Team, the members of the Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Committee, and the Graduate Curriculum Review Workgroup.
• Provide follow-up documentation for post-meetings.
• Support graduate faculty members in updating or developing new graduate courses.
