About The Position

The Culverhouse School of Accountancy invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of instructor beginning January 1, 2027. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate accounting classes and/or other courses as assigned per semester. Responsibilities also include service to the School of Accountancy, College of Business, and University as needed to further advance the program and its curriculum. Candidates with either an academic or professional business and/or accounting background are welcome to apply. Practitioner applicants should be active in their field, have professional experience, and regularly attend professional conferences. This is a non-tenure earning position renewable for three-year periods at the discretion of the University with no expectation of continued employment beyond any three-year contract period. Salary is competitive.

Requirements

  • CPA Certification
  • Master’s degree in accounting or a closely related field
  • Minimum of five years of accounting-related work experience
  • Ability and willingness to teach a variety of accounting classes, including financial accounting, accounting information systems, government and nonprofit accounting, and cost accounting.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and / or willingness to acquire knowledge related to artificial intelligence and its applications in the accounting field.
