About The Position

ATI is seeking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst – Cost Estimation & Inventory Accounting to support the Richburg Production Facility of our Specialty Materials business unit. This position will be based in Richburg, SC. As a Senior Financial Analyst – Cost Estimation & Inventory Accounting, you will be responsible for assisting in the subject areas of operational rate development & maintenance, cost planning, analysis, month-end reporting and inventory transactions at ATI's Richburg, SC facility. This role's primary focus is to be the accounting/finance leader for the facility to help and support in decisions being made as well as driving month end close. This position will also be involved in process improvement and project-based work. A successful Sr. Cost Analyst will quickly grasp ATI's business culture and processes, be able to work independently with minimal oversight in a matrixed environment and possess a strong continuous improvement mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting/cost experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Previous experience with inventory transactions
  • Self-directed with ability to lead and communicate across multiple functions and levels of the organization
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate financial concepts for non-financial audiences.
  • Ability to embrace and drive change
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of Inventory reserves
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting experience for a multi-location, midsize to large company
  • MBA, CPA, or CMA certification.
  • Background in process manufacturing
  • Understanding of inventory transactions
  • ERP experience in a manufacturing setting (Oracle experience a plus)
  • SQL experience
  • Previous project management experience
  • Knowledge of variance analysis, and cost accounting controls.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the go-to finance resource at the facility — providing data-driven insights to operations, production, and management.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory batches, resolving variances and ensuring proper accounting treatment through each stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Assist in the annual planning process for variable and fixed costs as well as the department expense budgets.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities
  • Site lead for annual physical inventory count and provide support for cycle count program
  • Work with plant finance people to understand cost variances and work toward driving total cost down.
  • Generate monthly financial reports and analytics to review with site and business leadership.
  • Partner with operations to analyze, track and report cost saving initiatives
  • Calculate ROI and financial impacts for capital projects and major maintenance
  • Perform periodic reviews of labor and overhead rates for accuracy and improvement opportunities.
