About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated work experience in the energy, industrial plant, or a related industry.
• Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related software.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license, obtain TC Energy DOT driver status, and maintain a safe driving record.
• Obtain operator qualifications to perform applicable covered tasks.
• Successfully complete TC Energy Pigging and Basics (6077), TC Energy Relief Valve (7057), TC Energy CP boot camp (6570), and TC Energy CP boot camp advance (6571).
• Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Be available for call-out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response.
• Be willing to travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training, potentially including overnight stays.
• Be able to work in adverse weather and temperature conditions and in cramped spaces.
• Meet the physical requirements of lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying up to 50 pounds; exerting up to 100 pounds of physical force; standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and squatting for extended periods; twisting the head and back for extended periods; working in confined spaces; climbing and working from ladders, catwalks, staging, and platforms; ascending and descending slopes and ditches; working with hands above the head; and working while lying on the back.

• Experience locating and marking pipeline infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret technical reference documents and P&ID drawings.
• NACE CP Level 1 certification.
• Knowledge of installing impressed-current ground beds and rectifiers.
• Four to five years of experience performing test-point surveys using a field data logger, such as Mesa.
• CDL with Hazmat endorsement for fluid handling.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground facilities in accordance with 811 requirements.
• Oversee and manage pipeline or utility crossings and encroachments, coordinating work around facilities with private, state, and federal landowners, contractors, and customers.
• Identify, investigate, and address encroachments and aerial patrol observations.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including facility inspections and maintenance of valves, actuators, quick-opening closures, storage wells, fluid-removal and gas-process and dehydration facilities, cathodic protection systems, exposures, and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform maintenance such as leak repair, hydrate and fluid removal, vegetation management, right-of-way inspection, tie-in assistance, cleaning of fluid-removal and process equipment, and maintenance of launchers, receivers, vessels, and closures.
• Oversee excavation of loaded natural gas pipelines and assist with pipe replacement, hot tapping and stopple equipment, pigging, pipe cleaning, fabrication, recoating, and hydrostatic testing.
• Patrol pipeline rights-of-way, storage facilities, and compression facilities, and assist with leak surveys.
• Inspect and mitigate atmospheric corrosion, including surface preparation and coating applications.
• Plan and coordinate operations activities for maintenance and capital construction projects, including hot work, energy isolation, gas handling, NORMS and Benzene monitoring, critical lifts, pipeline inspections, contractor monitoring, pre-startup safety reviews, and commissioning.
• Launch, monitor, and receive pipeline pigs; develop pigging plans and conduct internal pipeline cleaning using pipe-cleaning equipment.
• Conduct internal-corrosion sampling, including liquid sampling and coupon removal and installation.
• Maintain remote monitoring units installed on rectifiers.
• Conduct periodic pipeline and facility surveys to assess corrosion and cathodic protection performance, including resistivity and potential surveys.
• Check rectifiers and magnesium anode installations and evaluate cathodic protection equipment efficiency.
• Assist in analyzing problem areas and recommending corrosion mitigation solutions.
• Install interference bonds in coordination with other teams and support current-requirement tests for new ground-bed installations.
• Maintain cathodic-protection equipment operation and maintenance records.
• Perform close-interval surveys in small segments and supervise contractors conducting close-interval surveys.
• Detect and repair shorted road casings; identify corrosion issues requiring Engineering Services support.
• Inspect electrolysis bonds and conduct potential surveys on protected high-pressure pipelines.
• Monitor system parameters and pressures to ensure operations remain within requirements, including MAOP.
• Plan and lead pipeline isolation and gas-handling activities, blowdowns, purging, and pressurizing.
• Monitor contractor activity on site.
• Support US regulatory compliance and external inspection agencies during integrated and field inspections.
• Identify technical and physical management-of-change requirements and act as an MOC originator and/or coordinator.
• Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create work orders, and use SAP/BlueWorx and other task-specific programs.
• Perform work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform remedial and preventative maintenance and maintain facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as required at compressor stations, M&R stations, and pipeline facilities.
