About The Position
The Assistant Controller supports financial and operational reporting at the Pipestone, Minnesota facility. The role prepares yield reports and daily and weekly profit-and-loss statements, manages raw material and finished goods inventory, and performs month-end closing functions. It also tracks facility expenses and costs, works with plant management to incorporate recommended cost reductions into P&L reporting, and assists the Plant Controller with the annual budget and fixed asset accounting. The position may also work on special projects and perform other duties as assigned. This is a salaried position requiring travel to other facilities, company events, or other business-related situations as needed. The schedule is primarily weekdays during the day, with Saturdays, different shifts, and schedule flexibility as required. Applicants must submit a resume with their application.
Requirements
- Proficiency in 10-key, Microsoft Excel, and general computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of operational processes.
- Previous experience with cost analysis.
- Self-starter, problem solver, and team player.
- Ability to work independently.
- Trustworthiness in handling confidential material.
- Willingness and ability to travel as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities
- Complete various yield reports.
- Manage raw material and finished goods inventory.
- Prepare daily and weekly P&L statements.
- Perform month-end closing functions.
- Implement new procedures or policies as directed.
- Compile and track information regarding facility operating expenses and costs.
- Work with plant management and staff to incorporate recommended cost reductions into P&L reporting.
- Assist the Plant Controller in preparing the annual budget.
- Assist the Plant Controller with fixed asset accounting functions.
- Attend scheduled meetings to discuss plant expenses, evaluate costs, and detail plans for expense reductions.
- Work with plant management on assigned special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel to other facilities, company events, or other situations as a Company representative when business needs dictate.
