About The Position

Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. (SEMP) is seeking a Commercial Service Electrician to join their Southern California service department. This role involves performing electrical service, repairs, and providing 24/7 emergency support for commercial facilities. The technician will diagnose, repair, and install commercial electrical systems, troubleshoot issues, and connect emergency backup power systems like mobile generators and transfer switches. Technicians start their day from home and travel directly to job sites, utilizing a company vehicle and gas card. Responsibilities include documenting work order progress, providing customer service, and operating company vehicles safely.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of commercial electrical experience in commercial electrical service or construction roles
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and a motor vehicle background check
  • Proficient English communication skills required to write reports and emails
  • Must be able to work according to safety guidelines, OSHA, and workplace policies

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of and experience with refrigeration control wiring, Ansul systems, and/or HVAC motor control wiring is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Electrical diagnosis, maintenance, and installation of various commercial electrical wiring, power, and conduit systems
  • Skilled in pulling and terminating wires in control centers, panels, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, switches, and/or raceways
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, testing, and repairing emergency generators and temporary power systems, including automatic transfer switches and/or power distribution systems
  • Ability to work independently from blueprints, sketches, and schematic drawings
  • Provide informative customer service regarding the nature of electrical repairs
  • Operate company vehicles in accordance with department policies
  • Proficient in the use of cell phone communication, GPS, and electronic documentation technology
  • Submit service paperwork and reports as required by department policy
  • Available to work Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday as part of the regular schedule
  • Willingness to take on additional duties as needed to support the department
