About The Position

This position assists the head coach with all aspects of the softball program, including practices and conditioning, player development, recruiting, public relations, and supporting the academic development and graduation of student-athletes. The role requires a commitment to the welfare and safety of student-athletes, efforts to facilitate academic success, cooperation with academic units and counselors, and commitment to the social development of students. It also involves effective recruiting, professional relationships with coaches in the recruiting base, and success of previous recruits. Knowledge of and adherence to NCAA, conference, and TTU rules, regulations, and policies is essential. The position also requires a high level of performance for the team and positions coached, the ability to attract support for the program, commitment to the University, and professional relationships with departmental and campus staff and community members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Four years of successful softball coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level.
  • Education and experience necessary to perform all the functions of a Division I Assistant Softball Coach.
  • Commitment to adhere to NCAA and conference rules and regulations as well as University policies and procedures.
  • Coaching philosophy must complement the philosophy of the head coach.

  • Beyond meeting minimum requirements, candidates will be evaluated in terms of how their experience and education have prepared them for Division I assistant coaching including recruiting, assisting with practice and conditioning, player and public relations, and supporting the academic development and graduation of student-athletes.
