About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Biology, Biochemistry or Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, or Microbiology
• If no B.S. Degree in the above areas, must have a Bachelor's Degree with specific completed course requirements outlined: 16 semester or equivalent quarter units of chemistry, which must include clinical chemistry or analytical and biochemistry.
• 18 semester or equivalent quarter units of biology, which must include hematology, immunology, and medical microbiology.
• 3 semester or equivalent quarter units of physics (light and electricity).
• CLS Clinical Lab Scientist (MTA) - California Department of Public Health - Laboratory Field Service or Clinical Microbiologist Scientist - California Department of Public Health - Laboratory Field Service

Responsibilities

• Performs and demonstrates competency, proficiency, and understanding of test procedures in the Clinical Laboratory up to and including high complexity testing.
