About The Position

This role implements the hospital and laboratory mission, goals, and objectives by performing clinical laboratory exams and proficient testing. It also includes quality control, professional consultation, instrument maintenance and validation, testing management, and instructing and evaluating students, along with other functions that support these goals.

Requirements

• One year of experience in an approved laboratory; the internship year is applicable.
• Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or a related science.
• Twelve months of clinical education in a school of medical technology or its equivalent accepted by certification agencies.
• MTCLSC certification as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist through ASCP, NCA, or a CLIA-approved equivalent.
• Independent judgment and initiative to schedule, organize, and plan work.
• Flexibility and adaptability in emergency situations.
• Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and alertly for extended periods and under stress to prevent errors.
• Above-average manual dexterity.
• Effective communication skills, including computer use, listening, speaking, writing, and reading.
• Knowledge of HIS and LIS.
• Ability to teach medical technology students how to process specimens and answer computer-related questions.
