About The Position

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved school of medical technology.
• State of California Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.
• Meet state and federal requirements for supervising high-complexity laboratory testing as outlined in CLIA 88 and the State Title for Laboratories.
• Six years of experience as a registered technologist in an acute care hospital.
• Skills in phlebotomy, basic medical terminology, typing, math, and computers.
• Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• Advanced certification in the assigned section.
• ASCP certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing in assigned sections of the laboratory.
• Monitor technicians and other non-independent practitioners as needed.
• Maintain policies, procedures, and quality control practices for the assigned section under administrative direction.
• Provide management and accreditation support.
• Support a self-directed team approach to customer-driven service initiatives.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures and demonstrate the defined standards for attendance and punctuality.
• Maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for geriatric, adult, young adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
