About The Position
We are recruiting on behalf of a prominent Dallas-based law firm seeking a talented Civil Litigation Associate Attorney. This is an outstanding opportunity for attorneys who thrive in dynamic, mission-driven environments and want to make a direct impact serving governmental clients. You’ll join a collaborative team of fifteen attorneys and paralegals focused on representing governmental entities in the collection of delinquent government receivables, especially property tax matters. The work is high-volume and fast-paced, but well-supported by experienced leadership and a collegial culture.
Requirements
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, admission to practice in the U.S. District Courts, Northern District of Texas is preferred
- A minimum of three years of civil litigation experience with preferred experience in motion hearings, bench and jury trial(s) or equivalent municipal or county prosecutorial experience
Nice To Haves
- At least 5 years of general civil litigation experience (municipal or county prosecutor experience will also be considered)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering excellent client service
- Background in real estate, property tax or government is a plus
- Bilingual/multilingual is a plus
Responsibilities
- Handle a range of civil litigation matters, including motion hearings, bench trials, depositions, discovery, and appellate work
- Review properties set for monthly foreclosure sales
- Respond to motions filed by opposing counsel or defendants
- Work closely with the firm’s Administrative Attorney and Litigation Partners for mentorship, direction, and professional development
- Appear on behalf of the law firm in district, county, federal and justice of the peace courts
- Provide legal advice and representation to firm clients as it relates to the firm representation
- Work to resolve cases prior to hearing, and meet client revenue goals through daily
