Workers' Compensation Attorney
About The Position
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its growing practice in Charlotte, North Carolina. The attorney will handle a heavy and complex caseload of cases and hearings and help build out the Firm’s new, rapidly developing statewide workers’ compensation practice. The role offers a robust influx of cases and access to case docket management software, litigation resources, and benefits that support case development and optimization. Morgan & Morgan is a personal injury law firm focused on protecting consumers. Its employees support the firm’s mission to defend people against insurance companies, large corporations, and defective goods.
Requirements
- Law degree from a fully accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar Association.
- At least 3 years of workers’ compensation experience.
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases and hearings.
- Excellent client service and communication skills.
- Self-starter driven by long-term career goals.
- Superior writing and oral advocacy skills.
Responsibilities
- Handle cases and hearings on a day-to-day basis.
- Draft and file litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, demands, motions, and memoranda.
- Guide clients through the case process.
- Interact with expert witnesses, including participating in conferences and drafting expert reports and affidavits.
- Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
