About The Position

Requirements

• Must be a Utah State University student majoring in computer science, management information systems, or a related field
• Must have at least one (1) year of school remaining
• Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during summer
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person
• Ability to work independently with mentoring and as part of a collaborative team
• Must be reliable and responsible and have a strong work ethic
• Knowledge of common programming languages
• Knowledge of Jira and Jira Service Management
• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and database design
• Technical skills in programming, designing, systems development, and testing
• Introductory level knowledge of common software development processes (version control, peer reviews, documentation standards)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective team relationships

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with program team members, technical writers, and engineering technicians as required
• Writes clean, consistent, well-documented code
• Implements, tests, and maintains code for internal customers
• Ensures that code meets end user requirements
• Collaborates with other developers to ensure that new development projects integrate with existing applications and systems
• Provides operational support for existing systems
