Requirements

• Ph.D. holders or very advanced ABDs will be considered.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in and enthusiasm for teaching.

• Transdisciplinary interests that complement Davidson College’s growing interdisciplinary programs.

• Graduate school transcript.
• Statement addressing the candidate's research agenda and interests including ways undergraduates might be incorporated into these endeavors (3-5 pages).
• Statement explaining the candidate’s demonstrated or potential excellence in and enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching with an emphasis on connecting with students from a variety of backgrounds and lived experiences (2-3 pages).

• Regional focus on Africa, South Asia, or Southeast Asia.
• Transregional interests.

Responsibilities

• Contribute required introductory courses in Comparative Politics (e.g. Comparative Global Politics).
• Teach higher level courses with a regional focus such as the Politics of Africa, or the Politics of South/Southeast Asia.
• Teach thematic courses on topics such as regional political economy, democratization, human rights, development, security etc.
• Expand teaching and research interests in response to emerging political issues.
• Offer five courses per year (four in the first year of employment).
