About The Position

Requirements

• Assists in directing and supervising the daily operations of the Grocery Department to ensure outstanding customer service, maximum sales and profitability, effective merchandising, and compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Supports the Grocery Manager in leading department associates, maintaining inventory levels, and delivering a clean, safe, and well-stocked shopping environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and promote exceptional customer service.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Support sales growth through effective merchandising and execution of promotional programs.
• Ensure department conditions meet company standards for presentation and service.
• Assist with the daily operation of Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, and related sales areas as assigned.
• Maintain proper inventory levels and in-stock conditions.
• Monitor product rotation, code dates, and freshness standards.
• Ensure compliance with merchandising plans, pricing integrity, and shelf maintenance.
• Assist in managing shrink and controlling department expenses.
• Support hiring, training, coaching, and development of grocery associates.
• Provide direction and assign work responsibilities.
• Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Assist with scheduling to ensure adequate staffing and business needs are met.
• Hold associates accountable to company performance and service standards.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Assist with audits, inventory counts, and operational reviews.
• Report safety concerns, policy violations, and operational issues promptly.
• Assist in achieving department sales, labor, and profit goals.
• Monitor department productivity and operating expenses.
• Support inventory management and accurate ordering practices.
• Help implement plans to improve profitability and reduce shrink.
