Requirements

  • Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards.
  • Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to read architectural/engineering blueprints
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Two year technical degree from an accredited school or college
  • Construction and concrete related construction knowledge and experience particularly helpful
  • Prior experience with DOT listing and/or Project Management experience strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of construction or civil technology
  • Demonstrated experience in installation/placing reinforcing steel
  • Demonstrated experience in fabrication of reinforcing steel

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Detailing team in the coordination of listed and detailed projects by entering orders, producing bar-lists so that material is delivered to the job site in a timely manner, assisting customers in resolving problems, issuing change orders and entering data into Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s business system.
  • Produce bar-lists and import orders into Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s business system.
  • Ensure proper coding of all bar lists.
  • Develop a working knowledge of CRSI Manual of Standard Practice, reinforced concrete construction and other industry practices.
  • Review and verify date of contract documents (plans, addenda and specs) received and compare against the date on proposal/estimate.
  • Process change orders to maximize all possible returns for the Branch.
  • Communicate with customer, placer and A/E (Architect/Engineer) on all questions relating to project; submit RFI’s (Request For Information) as required.
  • Assist Manager in the review of “listed” projects, help resolve discrepancies, enter bar-lists and coordinate the field’s requirement for delivery of material.
  • Under the direction of management, be involved in all construction conflicts/disputes (whether contractor, placer, detailer or shop), and help with a resolution that is a time and cost effective solution.
  • Compare the progression of project detailed weight against contract weight.
  • Identify and develop information required to inform customer of any changes (time and/or material) to the contract, including the completion of the change order form.
  • Review all claims of shortages or errors.
  • Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.
