About The Position

Harris Williams ("HW") is seeking an Analyst to join its Financial Sponsor Coverage Team in the Richmond, VA office. The Sponsor Coverage Analyst will be responsible for developing critical insights and analyses to support senior Sponsor Coverage bankers and private equity ("PE") client strategies.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Eligible candidates should be working towards or already possess a Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher as a prerequisite

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and manage HW proprietary data analyses, including buyer performance and behavior, valuation trends and observations, process dynamics, pitch activity, etc.
  • Assist in funneling insights to both Sponsor Coverage and HW deal teams in preparation for client meetings
  • Track private equity industry trends and broader macro-economic data to inform HW’s market insights
  • Leverage Excel and PowerPoint to prepare ad hoc analysis and client-ready materials, including peer comparison analyses, deal history, relationship updates, and qualitative insights in support of client meetings and origination activities
  • Collaborate with senior Sponsor Coverage bankers and HW Industry Group bankers to drive highly strategic, targeted, and efficient lead pursuit
  • Partner closely with HW’s data services and technology teams to help optimize and inform ongoing development of key reports, as well as ad hoc projects and firm analyses in support of HW firm leadership
  • Participate in a robust training program designed to build relationships, provide baseline knowledge of M&A, and prepare for the role in the Sponsor Coverage Group
