About The Position
The Aircraft Fueler is responsible for safely and efficiently fueling and defueling aircraft and providing related servicing at the airport. The role involves operating fuel trucks, hydrant carts, and stationary carts; accurately accounting for fuel transactions; checking and maintaining equipment; and ensuring correct fuel loading and balance. The Fueler must follow workplace health, safety, security, and compliance procedures, and take reasonable care of their own and others’ wellbeing. The company prohibits alcohol and drug misuse and conducts regular testing under its Substance Misuse Policy. This is a full-time position with a scheduled shift of 15:00–23:30 and Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Work is primarily outdoors and involves variable conditions, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Proficiently read, write, and speak English.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to interpret weight, measurement, volume, and aircraft weight-and-balance fueling instructions.
- Handle fueling carts and hoses, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Be comfortable working primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience, including a Commercial Driver’s License or experience in the oil and gas industry.
Responsibilities
- Fuel aircraft safely and efficiently using fuel trucks, hydrant carts, and stationary carts.
- Defuel aircraft as directed.
- Accurately account for fuel transactions.
- Perform daily quality-control checks on equipment and keep it clean and functional.
- Ensure correct fuel loading and balancing of aircraft.
- Follow applicable health, safety, security, wellbeing, and compliance procedures, and take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and others.
