Aircraft Fueler- $19.50/hr. to $20.50/hr.
About The Position
The Aircraft Fueler is responsible for safely and efficiently fueling and defueling aircraft and servicing them at Ontario International Airport. The role involves performing basic mathematical calculations related to weight, measurement, and volume to interpret aircraft weight-and-balance loading instructions. The Fueler helps maintain a safe and secure work environment in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures. Work is primarily outdoors and requires comfort working in all weather conditions. The position pays $19.50 to $20.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Proficiently read, write, and speak English and perform basic math calculations.
- Lift and move fueling carts and hoses weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug test.
- Hold a valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Pass the Department of Airports driver’s test and obtain an airport operational area (AOA) driver’s license.
- Pass an FBI background check and obtain a US Customs seal.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- For Cargo Fuelers, hold a Class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience, including a Commercial Driver’s License or experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Prior ramp experience.
Responsibilities
- Fuel aircraft safely and efficiently using fuel trucks, hydrant carts, and stationary carts.
- Operate fuel trucks and related fueling equipment.
- Accurately account for fuel transactions.
- Perform daily quality-control checks on equipment and keep equipment clean and functional.
- Ensure correct fuel loading and aircraft balance.
- Defuel aircraft as directed.
- Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing, following provided information, training, and workplace safety rules and procedures.
