About The Position
The Senior Accountant independently defines and provides pertinent financial analysis to management and is responsible for financial decisions within management-assigned authority. The Senior Accountant ensures that GAAP is followed through financial statement presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts/Science in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Minimum of five (5) years in accounting, auditing or financial analysis experience.
- Possess advanced computer knowledge including Excel proficiency.
- Must be comfortable with mainframe accounting systems.
- Must have working knowledge of accounting documentation.
- Must be a self-starter requiring minimum supervision.
Responsibilities
- Provide general ledger accounting analysis/reconciliation as required.
- Produce month-end closing schedules, account reconciliations, i.e. cash summary/bank reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, inter-co transactions.
- Create journal entries to support activity for general ledger.
- Coordinate analysis for management, i.e. departmental reporting.
- Complete required vendor/cash disbursement analysis.
- Complete required tax and regulatory reporting, i.e. sales tax, property tax, escheats, airport authority fees, 1099’s.
- Address and resolve accounting Issues and provide guidance as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
