About the position
Voyager Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Director for their Corporate & Business Development team. This role will involve identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and licenses, as well as acquiring new assets and technologies. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in translating scientific and technical information into business analyses, with a background in genetic medicine or neuroscience preferred. The Senior Director will also contribute to strategic planning and analyses, build strong relationships internally and externally, and report to the Chief Business Officer.
Responsibilities
- Develop a partnering strategy that supports Voyager's Research and Development teams
- Identify, evaluate, propose, and present new business opportunities
- Assist in related transactions, including running diligence and supporting negotiations
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives
- Forge strong relationships and work closely with internal stakeholders
- Act as a thought partner to R&D and G&A functions
- Perform complex analyses of opportunities with significant financial investment
- Negotiate on behalf of Voyager in support of in-licensing, out-licensing, co-promotions, M&A, etc.
- Build strong relationships and networks with potential external partners
- Continuously monitor developments in the field
- Contribute to the development and evolution of corporate and business development strategies and objectives
- Foster and contribute to a vibrant team and company culture
Requirements
- Extensive experience in digesting scientific and technical information to translate into business analyses
- Substantial relevant industry experience
- Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., neuroscience, molecular biology, genetics) or highly relevant, direct experience in genetic medicine or neuroscience preferred
- MBA and/or management consulting experience highly desirable
- Experience in corporate and business development portfolio strategy
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Ability to identify, evaluate, propose, and present new business opportunities
- Experience in running diligence and supporting negotiations
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills
- Knowledge of the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to monitor developments in the field and stay current with industry trends
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with various departments
- Ability to contribute to strategic planning initiatives

- Minimum 10+ years of experience in corporate and business development portfolio strategy
- Substantive exposure to genetic medicines and/or neurologic disease preferred
