About the position
The Director, Business Development position at BillionToOne is a dynamic role that focuses on driving business development and expansion for the company's flagship product, UNITY™, in the state of Florida. UNITY™ is a groundbreaking non-invasive prenatal test that screens for various genetic disorders and chromosomal abnormalities. The Director will be responsible for developing a comprehensive business development strategy, analyzing potential opportunities, structuring proposals, and negotiating deals. This highly visible role requires strong sales skills, the ability to communicate with key decision makers, and a deep understanding of the molecular diagnostics space.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with executive management to develop a comprehensive, data-driven business development strategy throughout Florida
- Analyze potential opportunities and develop individualized sales plans for each target account
- Structure proposals and negotiate final deal terms
- Manage follow-up related to the deal and completion of written agreements
- Enhance ongoing relationships with client organizations, and monitor customer satisfaction with proactive and consistent communication
- Use data to analyze sales results, identify industry trends, and stay abreast of the competitive landscape to increase expansion opportunities
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience closing business within large hospital systems or IDNs throughout the state of Florida with a focus on women's health, genetics, molecular diagnostics, or medical device space
- Demonstrated and consistent track record of sales success (e.g., President's Club, Chairman's Club, Circle of Excellence or equivalent national awards required)
- Solid negotiation and closing skills
- Strong data analysis skills
- Understanding of buyer/decision maker types
- Effective selling, listening, and presentation skills
- Strong focus on pull through and solid follow-through skills
- Ability to communicate with C-Suite with strong clinical and business acumen (written and verbal)
- Familiarity with the payor and reimbursement environment in the molecular diagnostics space
- Effective time management skills with a demonstrated ability to assess and prioritize opportunities
- Exceptionally bright, flexible, self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to think strategically as well as execute tactically
- Must act with a sense of urgency, with a focus on closing business
- Ability to assess the needs of clients and develop individualized sales plans
- Ability to structure proposals and negotiate final deal terms
- Ability to manage follow-up related to the deal and completion of written agreements
