About The Position

Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. This role provides care for a specific patient population with various types of chronic wounds and their advanced wound care treatments. The Registered Nurse serves as a resource for other health care professionals, patients, families, and the community. This position is bonus eligible.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing.
  • Two (2) years nursing experience.
  • Experience in skin and wound care.
  • Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Wound Vac experience.
  • Certification in Wound and Ostomy.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of a physician and/or a Certified Wound Care Clinician, perform assessment/reassessment of the physical and educational needs of patients with any chronic wound needing advanced wound care techniques.
  • Communicate patient needs to appropriate members of the wound care team.
  • Provide discharge teaching as required.
  • Assist with referrals for studies, labs, procedures, and other physicians.
  • Under the guidance of a physician and/or Certified Wound Care Clinician, formulate, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care based on patient needs.
  • Through consultation and collaboration with the members of the wound care team, coordinate care in an efficient, cost-effective manner using knowledge and understanding of current advanced wound care modalities and practices.
  • Assist with education of patients and their caregivers on current evidence-based advanced wound care modalities and practices.
  • Assist with promoting knowledge of healthy practices in the area of expertise throughout the community through education.
  • Identify actual/potential issues of resource management/patient care; work with the wound care team to identify cost-effective alternatives; facilitate discharge.
  • Keep documentation via EMR current, including accurate documentation of products and facility charges.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and families per established departmental policies.
  • May perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy related duties, as needed, after completing the required hyperbaric training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
