About The Position

The Wound Care Registered Nurse plans, implements, directs, and evaluates patient care using the Nursing Process to achieve optimal outcomes. The nurse works collaboratively with other disciplines on the assigned unit, prioritizes nursing actions, and accurately implements physician orders within appropriate time frames. The role includes patient and family education about wound care. Training is provided for wound care responsibilities.

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing.
• Valid Registered Nursing license.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Prior experience working with wound care patients; training is provided.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with billing and coding.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Magnet Hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on scientific principles, nursing theory, and evidence-based practice.
• Recognize changes in a patient's condition and intervene appropriately.
• Prioritize nursing actions based on patient needs, acuity, and desired outcomes.
• Implement physician orders accurately within appropriate time frames.
• Educate and counsel patients and their families on wound care processes and issues.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on the assigned unit.
