Larson Company is a family-owned and operated independent distributor of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Datacom products with multiple locations. This is an exciting time to join our Hayward team, especially with our recently expanded warehouse. Warehouse Associates are crucial for increasing operational efficiency, company profitability, and customer satisfaction by accurately and safely receiving, storing, and moving materials, both by hand and with machinery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year working in a warehouse environment as a team member, working with power equipment, and pulling orders.
  • A solid understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processes
  • Math skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and to other employees of the organization
  • Self-motivated and self-starter
  • Organized, strong time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and collaborate within a multi-functional team
  • A team player – work together with others to accomplish common goals of company
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, consistent, and tenacious

Nice To Haves

  • Wholesale distribution and/or retail experience preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC components preferred

Responsibilities

  • Pick, fill, and pack orders on a timely basis to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries and transfers – including picking pipe and wire cutting
  • Load and unload materials and trucks
  • Safely utilize power equipment including mechanical lift or vehicles when necessary to fulfill orders and restock warehouse shelves
  • Keep warehouse clean and organized including disposal of leftover packing materials such as wooden crates, pallets, and cardboard
  • Maintain accurate inventory management and take inventory of materials shipped or received.
  • Refill primary bins using proper procedures and minimizing open boxes
  • Receive and process incoming stock and materials
  • Communicate with other departments and branches regarding order status or inventory issues.
  • Work in a team environment to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse.
