About The Position

Skilled work in tree trimming maintenance of City trees. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
  • Three (3) years experience in tree care.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License, Class B CDL with air brakes.
  • Ability to perform hard manual labor, work in elevated areas.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to complete daily work sheets.
  • Skill in the use and preventative maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of tree trimming techniques and equipment used in tree care.
  • Knowledge of variety of trees by name.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic tools used.

Nice To Haves

  • A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prune, trim, and remove trees.
  • Operate chipper.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, bucket trucks, chipper machine, etc.
  • Prepare daily report.
  • Operate motor vehicle and power tools and equipment.
