About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Strong attendance and dependability.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain and active rail infrastructure.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy equipment and materials.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities safely and effectively.
• Ability to follow safety rules, operating procedures, and instructions.
• Ability to participate in Railserve's pre-employment screening process.

Nice To Haves

• Military experience is a plus.
• Previous railroad or construction experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Drive spikes and secure track components.
• Move, install, and replace railroad cross ties.
• Adjust, inspect, and maintain track switches.
• Lubricate switches and track components.
• Tighten track bolts and hardware.
• Check track gauge, alignment, cross level, and track conditions.
• Assist with track repairs and maintenance projects.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Inspect work areas for safety hazards and report concerns.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Follow company operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
