About The Position
Collects, processes, and stores biological specimens for laboratory testing and research purposes. This role serves as a supporting function to facilitate research, and does not involve hypothesis-based research or analysis on the biospecimens.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science or equivalent certification and experience, required.
- Two years of laboratory research experience or equivalent, required.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and computer experience.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to change manner of communication styles to adapt to various cultural and work-style differences.
- Ability to maintain and foster interpersonal relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work efficiently independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to adjust to change, handle interruptions, and function with changing circumstances.
Nice To Haves
- Coursework in anatomy, physiology, statistics, and relevant research methods, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collects, processes, and stores biological specimens according to established protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Maintains accurate records of specimen collection, processing, and storage.
- Ensures that specimens are properly labeled and tracked throughout the collection and storage process.
- Performs quality control checks on specimens to ensure that they meet established standards.
- Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies, and orders new supplies as needed.
- Communicates with other laboratory staff and researchers to ensure that specimens are collected and processed in a timely and efficient manner.
