About The Position

CMHA-CEI is seeking a Resident Technician to assist in the personal care and treatment of individuals with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. The candidate will be responsible for implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs to maximize an individual's potential for increased independence. This role involves training and assisting residents in daily living skills, implementing Behavior Treatment Plans, maintaining documentation, and assisting residents in community activities. The position also requires attending mandatory staff meetings and in-service training sessions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must receive and maintain certification in Department of Community Health Group Home Skill Training.
  • Ability to understand written instructions.
  • Ability to accurately and effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to read and follow medication charts.
  • Must be physically able to do lifting and transferring of physically impaired consumers according to approved agency policies/procedures.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license.
  • Access to reliable transportation for job-related use.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Perform lifting and transferring of physically impaired consumers.
