About The Position

Requirements

• Provide shop floor leadership and direction for the startup and daily operation of all assigned machines and work stations in the Steering and Controls Flexatrol Hose & Tube Department.
• Support the Manufacturing Shift Supervisor.
• Work independently with judgment.
• Work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
• Lead employees effectively.
• Effectively train others.
• Identify problems, assess manufacturing needs, problem solve and implement solutions in an effective and timely manner.
• Responsible for the daily supervision of all assigned areas including employees, production schedules, production supplies, cost controls and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment for all employees and have zero accidents.
• Lead/assist in set-up of machines.
• Operates machines under general supervision.
• Performs adjustments to the machines.
• Performs routine daily checks.
• May assist supervisor and/or maintenance mechanic in more complex machine maintenance.
• Oversee daily operations of all assigned assembly lines and work stations.
• Influence product design to assure good manufacturing efficiencies and control scrap.
• Ensure operating and quality standards are met for all product produced in assigned areas.
• Provide safety and operational training to all employees in the department.
• Manage the assembly and finishing of steering and controls parts including employees, materials, scheduling, safety, quality and service/on time delivery.
• Set-up & change over product, adjust, operate all essential manufacturing equipment, including minor maintenance needs to remain operational.
• Maintain and record an accurate account of manning, good parts and scrap parts daily.
• May be assigned to perform other duties as requested.
