About The Position

A Middle School Teacher is responsible for passionately and effectively teaching courses in grades 6-8, promoting student progress, and promoting/managing a safe and positive classroom environment. This role requires a passion for Christ and His Kingdom, demonstrated through personal spiritual discipline and public ministry, with a desire to grow in that relationship through personal spiritual discipline, education, accountability, and service. The teacher will be expected to maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive, and caring environment for all students and staff, effectively teach English Language Arts essentials, and engage students through relational ministry while upholding high academic standards. Collaboration with colleagues, parents, and staff is essential, as is adherence to school guidelines and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English Language Arts-related field of study from an accredited university or college
  • Demonstrates a passion for Christ and his Kingdom through personal spiritual discipline and public ministry
  • Seeks to grow in that relationship with Christ through personal spiritual discipline, education, accountability and service to his Kingdom
  • Ability to effectively teach English Language Arts essentials
  • Ability to comply with both written and oral instructions
  • Proficiency in maintaining efficient classroom management skills
  • Proficiency in demonstrating effective organizational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Obtain a certificate of negative result for TB screening before hire
  • Cleared live scan background check

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree and/or California teaching credential desirable
  • Command of subject matter and ability to wisely engage students, as demonstrated through quality experience, is desirable
  • Desire to serve in co-curricular activities, such as athletics or arts, is welcomed

Responsibilities

  • Passionately and effectively teach courses in grades 6-8
  • Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive, and caring environment for all students and staff in accordance with school, state, and all applicable laws and regulations
  • Give directions to students with both written and oral instructions
  • Demonstrate effective organizational skills
  • Maintain efficient classroom management skills
  • Effectively communicate and engage with parents, students, and colleagues
  • Teach in the content area using research-based, best instructional practices
  • Engage students, caring for them through relational ministry while simultaneously taking responsibility for upholding high academic standards, helping students achieve their maximum potential
  • Communicate, engage, and collaborate with fellow faculty and staff in a collegial and supportive manner
  • Demonstrate professional practices in teaching in alignment with Rancho guidelines and policies
  • Follow the school guidelines in the Secondary Employee Handbook and the Rancho Christian Hr Handbook
  • Actively and collaboratively participate as a member of the school faculty
  • Keep phone and email communications responsive
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
