[MSO] Go Developer (Private Cloud)

About The Position
Software Mind is seeking a Go Developer to help build a private cloud platform for a Dutch managed services provider serving public-sector customers in Western Europe. The platform is the provider’s private cloud offering, built and operated in Go on Kubernetes. The work includes developing new services and Kubernetes operators, migrating existing workloads to the platform, and maintaining it after launch. Development, migration, and operational work happen concurrently. Go is a relatively new direction for the team, whose engineering background is primarily in Python. The successful candidate will help establish patterns for the platform’s Go codebase. They will join a team of 6+ engineers based in Poland and the Netherlands, working together as one team. English is used daily for design discussions, code reviews, and documentation. The role is fully remote from Poland and has no on-call duty.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of commercial back-end development experience, including at least 2 years building production services in Go.
- Knowledge of Go concurrency, including goroutines, channels, context, and sync; the Go standard library; and building REST and gRPC services.
- Experience building GitLab CI/CD pipelines and working across the full delivery lifecycle.
- Experience writing Go tests with the standard testing package and Testify or Ginkgo.
- Experience building and running containerized applications on Linux, including debugging services, reading logs, and troubleshooting basic host networking.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
Nice To Haves
- Experience writing Kubernetes operators or controllers in Go.
- Python experience, including Pytest.
- Robot Framework experience.
- Experience with Helm, Kustomize, and GitOps.
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault and Terraform.
- CKA or CKAD certification.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Go back-end services for the private cloud platform.
- Write and maintain Kubernetes operators and controllers in Go.
- Test, debug, and improve existing infrastructure applications.
- Help migrate existing workloads onto the new platform.
- Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for owned services.
- Collaborate with architects, functional designers, and other specialists on system and application design.
- Review code, write technical documentation, and share knowledge within the team.
