About The Position

TRISTAR is seeking a highly motivated local Software Developer II in Bloomington, Indiana, to support software development and system administration for Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Intelligence & Cyberspace Operations (EW ICO) in support of the Azurite Program. The role focuses on developing and maintaining mission software, primarily using C++ and Python, and supporting integration, debugging, verification, and production hardening. The developer participates in software architecture and planning activities and collaborates with Systems, DSP, and RF engineers to develop integrated mission capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
• Must already have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security Plus certification prior to the start date.
• Ability to develop and maintain software using C++, Python, and/or JavaScript.
• Ability to work within a Git-based software development workflow.
• Ability to develop and debug software in Linux and Windows development environments.
• Ability to integrate software across multiple subsystems.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain mission software.
• Develop software primarily in C++ and Python.
• Support software integration, debugging, verification, and production hardening activities.
• Participate in software architecture discussions, implementation planning, and technical design reviews.
• Submit software changes through the established version control and merge request process.
• Participate in daily task planning and Agile software development activities.
• Collaborate with Systems, DSP, and RF engineers to develop integrated mission capabilities.
