About The Position
This is a travel contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the PICU/PCICU Float Pool at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn & Park Ridge, Illinois. The facility is a 300-bed Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital, certified as a Chest Pain & Stroke Center, offering pediatric specialty care across multiple campuses. The PICU/PCICU unit has 19-23 beds with an average census of 15-18 patients and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1. Patients in this unit commonly present with respiratory conditions, congenital heart disease, hematology/oncology issues, post-operative care needs, and trauma cases.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience
- Active Illinois RN License
- BLS & PALS Certification (Required)
Nice To Haves
- NRP Certification
- First-time travelers accepted
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to pediatric patients
- Manage ventilators, drips, and post-op recovery
- Collaborate with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
- Float as needed within pediatric units
