About The Position
This is a travel nursing position for an Adult Transitions unit in Kansas City, Missouri. The shift is nights (19:00-07:00) for a 91-day contract, starting on 05/18/2026. The unit includes ADOL, Serenity, ITU, SRAD, and VINE with varying acuity levels. Active Blue Card CPI and experience with Meditech documentation are required.
Requirements
- Ability to assess patients' mental health status and develop care plans.
- Experience with crisis intervention and medication management.
- Certification in BLS and CPI.
- Active Blue Card CPI required for submission.
- Experience with Meditech documentation is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' mental health status, including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems.
- Develop individualized care plans based on the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues, setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
- Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Provide immediate short-term support to patients in crisis, using techniques such as de-escalation and appropriate medication management.
- Monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects.
