About The Position

We are currently seeking experienced Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurses for various locations within a designated region. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care and support to adult and geriatric patients across multiple specialties. The positions are located in a care setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 depending on patient acuity. Nurses may encounter a variety of patient diagnoses, including but not limited to: Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Psych/Detox, and General Medicine. Shifts are primarily nights, with a commitment to work 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule. Nurses are expected to be flexible and assist in meeting the scheduling needs of the department. All nurses will be required to float between facilities within the designated 60-mile radius, which includes the following key locations: Ulysses, KS, Dodge City, KS, and Garden City, KS. Candidates must be available for a week of orientation and are expected to adhere to attendance policies throughout the contract period. It is essential to submit any time-off requests in advance of the assignment commencement date.

Requirements

  • 2 years of Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience within the last 3 years.
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS required.
  • NIHSS required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in neuro nursing.
  • Familiarity with Alaris and EPIC systems is preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care based on the assessment and plan for adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical needs.
  • Float among various units including General MS-Tele and specialties such as Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and more.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and health status while responding effectively to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as per provider orders.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation utilizing the electronic health record system.
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
