About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med Surg/Tele Pulmonary Registered Nurse to join our team in providing excellent care to patients with respiratory disorders. Our Pulmonary Unit is a 36-bed telemetry unit focused on diagnosing and treating a variety of lung diseases and injuries, where the nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6.
Requirements
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree required.
- Active nursing license in Alabama or a compact license; temporary licenses are not accepted.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in the specialty area; candidates with 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license will also be considered.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Candidates must pass a Dysrhythmia Basic exam during onboarding, with up to two attempts allowed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, specialized care for patients and their families suffering from pulmonary conditions.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy.
- Demonstrate expertise in respiratory skills along with a strong foundation in general medicine.
- Participate in patient assessments, develop care plans, and provide education to patients and families.
- Float to other units and hospitals as needed to maintain optimal staffing levels and patient care standards.

- Overtime is paid after 48 hours of work within a week, regardless of the scheduled hours (36 or 48 hours per week).
