About The Position

This position is for a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Adolescent Behavioral Health at Avery's House. The role involves providing direct nursing care, supporting clients in their recovery journey, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The nurse will be responsible for medication management, documentation, crisis intervention, and assisting with client admissions and discharges. The position requires adherence to the organization's mission and values, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to adolescents with behavioral health needs.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited RN program and current RN licensure in Idaho
  • Current CPR/ FA certificate
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid enhanced clearance with ID Department of H&W
  • One year of experience in related field
  • Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment, and knowledge of psychotropic medication
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to review and implement Recovery/Treatment plans
  • Ability to support medical and psycho-social care of members served
  • Ability to administer oral and injectable medications
  • Ability to act as a team member and provide input via reporting observations and concerns and ask appropriate questions
  • Ability to review and implement client recovery treatment plans
  • Ability to implement physical crisis and de-escalation techniques

Nice To Haves

  • LPN license in Idaho (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the Avery’s House mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with clients.
  • Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Provides nursing care and assists in the welcoming, admission, and discharge process.
  • Collects data relevant to client’s care; develops and implements nursing care plans.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of crisis management and intervention.
  • Transcribes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Administers medication management policies and procedures.
  • Notifies the prescriber and nursing supervisor of any changes in behavior or condition.
  • Documents the progress of clients toward their recovery plan goals.
  • Attends and participates in company meetings.
  • Coordinates and participates in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shift.
