About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a preferred major in Chemistry or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience as demonstrated by one of the following: No prior experience required with a Bachelor’s degree, Two (2) years of relevant experience with an Associate’s degree, or Four (4) years of relevant experience with a High School diploma.
• Hands on experience with Raman spectroscopic instrumentation.
• Broad knowledge of standard research processes, tools, and methodologies, typically gained through on-the-job experience, training, certification, or a degree.
• Ability to independently complete routine research tasks.
• Ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve routine research-related issues using established procedures and precedent, with guidance from a supervisor when needed.
• Ability to evaluate and select appropriate solutions for less frequent or unusual issues; escalates complex matters as appropriate.
• Ability to assist with basic data analysis, research documentation, and preparation of reports or manuscripts.

Responsibilities

• Conducts standard laboratory and field research activities.
• Supports broader research projects.
• Collects and processes samples.
• Conducts basic experiments.
• Assists with the design and implementation of research projects.
• Performs preliminary statistical analysis.
• Works with a high level of autonomy on routine work.
• Applies established procedures and precedents to resolve issues.
• Helps maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• May provide guidance or training to less experienced colleagues.
