About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Radiation Safety Officer with RT Level II certification to join their Industry Services team in Houston, TX. This role supports the Industry Services business by managing Intertek's radiation safety program and performing field inspection activities as an RT Level II Technician. The Asset Integrity Management team provides comprehensive asset life management support across various project phases, utilizing specialists and engineering support in areas like design, process safety, mechanical integrity, inspection, maintenance, operations, corrosion, metallurgy, and risk analysis to ensure Total Quality Assurance.

Requirements

  • Must have prior experience and certification as a Radiation Safety Officer
  • Must be qualified and certified as an ASNT Level II in Radiographic examination (Code Quality)
  • Minimum of 3+ years field experience
  • Hold a valid State card
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
  • TWIC Card
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to pass a physical exam
  • A mindset of safety first

Nice To Haves

  • Additional NDT certifications and experience are a plus
  • ASNT Level II certification in UT-Thickness; MT and/or PT
  • CR experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to organize and report test results and send information to the office for data processing
  • The ability to solve technical issues in the field
  • Rope Access certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage radiation safety programs
  • Research new and existing radiation regulations
  • Measure product, material or facility radiation levels
  • Supervise personnel working with radioactive materials
  • Perform Radiographic Testing Film Interpretation (RTfi), including evaluation of the Radiographic Method and radiographic film against applicable codes and standards.
  • Set up and calibrate equipment, and interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Organize and report the results of any assigned NDT.
  • Adopt an Intertek “Marketing and Sales” attitude in all client, vendor, employee, and outside contacts interactions.
  • Actively pursue continuing technical education courses or seminars.
