Launch Quality Engineer - Senior

About The Position

The Quality Launch Engineer role is responsible for ensuring that our launch sites meet defined quality standards. This role oversees quality planning, training, risk assessment, validation activities, and cross-functional coordination to enable successful launches across North America. This is a remote role and would require travel extensively within the North America region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business focus.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an automotive, medical devices or logistics environment working in a quality capacity is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of relevant international standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 etc.).
  • Knowledge of structured quality launch processes, preferably in the logistics/supply chain industry or equivalent based APQP process and tools (flow charts, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality standards, inspections and written quality requirements.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We do not provide visa sponsorship for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with production floor training software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Gather data from the customer and internal sources as input for problem solving and communicate/report to appropriate personnel. Interact with staff within the locations and within the Company and all customer and prospective customer representatives.
  • Handle all Quality Engineering related launch activities and serves as the voice of the Corporate Quality team.
  • Execute launch activities, new hire training, shop floor production support and product containment.
  • Prepares all APQP & PFEP documentation for part files on new and existing products/processes. Collaborates with site Quality and Engineering departments on new part programs to verify customer requirements are met.
  • Create PFMEA, process control plans and operator/associate training.
  • Provide on-site support for execution and readiness activities related to steady state and major launches.
  • Drive Regional and Local quality initiatives.
  • Drive implementation of best practices and standardized quality metrics across all company operations.
  • Create training documentation and training exercises.
  • Maintain Training scorecards.
  • Analyze existing operations and propose continuous improvements.
  • Train team members on standard work instructions.
  • Aid in the development of training programs.
  • Support the develop and execution of training and development strategies while leveraging emerging technologies in the work cell training space.
  • Other duties as assigned.
