Within the County organization, the Health & Human Services Public Health Division works to protect and promote the health of the community. The division focuses on preventing disease, reducing health risks, and creating conditions that support safe, healthy living for all residents. Public Health monitors community health concerns, provides education and outreach, and implements programs that address the causes and impacts of health issues. By promoting healthy environments, sharing accurate health information, and coordinating prevention efforts, the Public Health Division supports a strong and resilient community where individuals can work, live, and play safely. The Public Health Officer directs, coordinates, and supervises public health operations to protect and promote the health of Door County residents. This role oversees program administration, compliance, emergency response, and inter-agency collaboration, and serves as the designated Health Officer per Wisconsin Statute 251.06(3), ensuring adherence to all applicable public health laws and standards.
