About The Position
The Department of English at the Faculty of Arts is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach ENG1120, Selected Topics in Literature and Composition, during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course focuses on developing critical reading skills and coherent discourse, with an emphasis on the proper use and acknowledgement of sources. Readings in multiple genres will provide material for discussion and frequent written assignments. This course is not repeatable for credit and is not intended for English Majors or Honours students. The course is scheduled to be held online on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, though the schedule is subject to change.
Requirements
- Ph.D (English)
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
- Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
Nice To Haves
- Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach ENG1120, Selected Topics in Literature and Composition.
- Develop and deliver course content focusing on critical reading, discourse, and source citation.
- Provide material for discussion and frequent written assignments based on multi-genre readings.
- Conduct an online course on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
- Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
