About The Position
General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a MCA Operator (Production Operator) to join our Marion, IL team. Summary: This is an entry level position for production; Marion is a LAP Facility – Load, Assemble and Pack. The ability to maintain a constant, quick, pace on an assembly line is required. Visual inspection skills are needed to spot imperfections in a finished, assembled, part.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent combination of experience
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with supervision and fellow employees
- Must have the ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety signs and instructions
- Must be able to perform basic math
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Pre-employment background and medical screening will be required if selected for hire.
- Must be able to work all shifts and overtime, as required
Nice To Haves
- Previous background in assembly and pack is a plus.
- Production experience (assembly and pack) is preferred
Responsibilities
- Must be able to work all shifts and overtime, as required
- Package finished products and prepare for shipment.
- Performs assembly line tasks in a manufacturing setting.
- Ensure the production line runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Inspecting assembled products to verify they meet quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area.
- Inspect product for any defects and flaws.
