About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in paper science, engineering, or a related field.
• 2 years’ experience in paper manufacturing, with some experience in a supervisory or management role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of papermaking processes, equipment, and quality control.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance.
• Proficiency in using computer software for production planning and reporting.
• Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day paper production operations, including stock preparation, papermaking, coating, and chemicals to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize production output and minimize downtime.
• Ensure that paper products meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations by implementing quality control measures.
• Promote and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements. Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles.
• Manage raw materials and finished goods inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
• Assist in the development and management of the department's budget, controlling costs while meeting production goals.
• Oversee all capital improvements on tissue machines and stock preparation areas. This includes submitting approval, budgeting, project management, vendor management and safety.
