About The Position

Matrix Home Care is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) for a private duty care case in Gainesville, Florida. This is a one-on-one home care opportunity supporting a client with Parkinson’s disease and a recent traumatic brain injury. The client requires supervision, safety support, companionship, and assistance with daily activities in the home setting. The ideal candidate will be patient, reliable, attentive, and comfortable supporting a client who may have memory-related needs. The family would prefer a male caregiver, if possible, based on the client’s comfort and personal care needs. All qualified applicants will be considered in accordance with applicable employment laws. The caregiver must be dog-friendly and comfortable working in a home with a friendly 90-pound Chocolate Labrador Retriever.

Requirements

  • Current CNA certification or documentation of HHA training preferred
  • Previous home care, private duty, personal care, or caregiving experience preferred
  • Experience supporting clients with Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injuries, dementia, memory-related needs, mobility limitations, or fall risks is a plus
  • Must be dependable, professional, patient, compassionate, and attentive
  • Must be comfortable providing one-on-one care in a private home
  • Must be dog-friendly and comfortable around a large, friendly dog
  • Must have strong communication and observation skills
  • Must be able to provide safe, respectful, and person-centered care
  • Must be able to assist with mobility and transfers as required by the client’s care plan
  • Reliable transportation is preferred
  • Must meet all employment, credentialing, and background-screening requirements
  • Under Florida law, this position is subject to background screening under Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. Screening requirements may include fingerprinting and review for employment eligibility before the candidate may begin working.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one care, support, and supervision in the client’s home
  • Assist with activities of daily living and personal care as needed
  • Provide safety monitoring and fall-prevention support
  • Assist with mobility, positioning, and transfers as appropriate
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Support memory-related care needs through patience, reassurance, and redirection
  • Assist with meal preparation and hydration reminders as needed
  • Assist with light housekeeping related to the client’s care
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment
  • Observe and promptly report changes in the client’s condition, behavior, or needs
  • Communicate concerns to the appropriate family member, supervisor, or care team
  • Follow the established plan of care and all company policies and procedures
  • Respect the client’s privacy, dignity, personal preferences, and independence
